Standing Out on LinkedIn

I’m sure you already know that LinkedIn is a potent tool for job seekers and professionals, but did you know that 80% of recruiters use it to find talent? That’s why ensuring your profile is in tip-top shape is essential.

Here are two easy ways to get noticed on LinkedIn:

Use Keywords:

Your LinkedIn profile is not just a digital version of your resume. It’s where you can tell your professional story in detail and showcase your achievements. To ensure recruiters and hiring managers can find you, include keywords relevant to your industry or field. Do your research and read through job descriptions and company websites to identify the keywords and phrases that are most important. And when writing your stories and accomplishments, be sure to sprinkle in those keywords to help your profile stand out.

Create a Headline with a Benefit Statement:

Your headline is one of the first things people will see when they come across your profile, so make it count! By default, your headline will be your most recent job title, but you can customize it to reflect your skills and what you offer. Create a headline that clearly states what you bring to the table, like “Seamless Transition Manager for Mergers and Acquisitions” or “Helping Companies Identify Profitable Options in the Technology Field.” You can pair phrases like that with job titles, too!

So there you have it, two simple ways to strengthen your LinkedIn profile and get noticed by recruiters and hiring managers. With a little effort, you can ensure your professional story is told and that you’re front and center for the right opportunities.
